Ucluelet is one of Vancouver Island’s top salmon fishing destinations. The surrounding waters of ucluelet offer a wide range of fishing locations inshore and offshore. The summer season is prime time for Chinook (King) and Coho (Silvers) fishing. Large runs of Chinook and Coho migrate through the offshore and inshore waters of ucluelet. Feeding on the vast amounts of herring, pilchard, needlefish, krill and squid. Ucluelet has the most consistent and reliable fishing on the B.C. coast, due to its location. Chinook salmon range in size from 10 to 50 pounds Coho 5 to 20 pounds. All five species of salmon migrate here we primarily target Chinook, Coho and sockeye. Ucluelet is a paradise for any angler seeking trophy sized Chinook, and Coho. The Ucluelet area is primary feeding grounds for fish headed to the Fraser, and other rivers in B.C. also the Columbia and other United States rivers.  It is the destination for over a million salmon returning home every year. The fishing technique for this area is trolling with anchovies, herring, spoons, plugs and hoochies. Fishing depths of 20 to 150 feet where feeding fish hit hard. Every August thru to September Uclulet is home for 50,000 25-50 pound Robertson Creek Chinook. Columbia river Chinook 30 pound plus, mass off the offshore banks May thru to July.   The limit for salmon is 2 Chinook and 2 Coho per day per person with a 2-day possession limit of 4 Chinook and 4 Coho per person.

What to bring on your fishing charter?

• fishing license
• camera (lot’s of great pictures)
• lunch and drinks(bottled water)
• sun screen
• sun glasses
• cooler
• motion sickness pills
• rain gear

Clothing: Layer up on the clothing so if it gets hot you can take off clothes and if it is cold you can put clothes back on.

Motion sickness pills are located at your local pharmacies just follow the instructions on the packages for when you should take them prior to your charter.
